Greensboro, NC (Future150) -- Class of 2018 SG Tre Turner plays at Northwest Guilford in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Turner is the half-brother of current NBA player and former Tarheel, PJ Hairston.
He recently earned his first division one offer from Maryland-Eastern Shore and has seen his interest pick up. Coaches from High Point, North Carolina-Greensboro, and Western Carolina have been observing him and his backcourt mate Jalen Spicer during morning workouts the past few weeks.
Just a sophomore, Turner stands about 6-foot-4 and can shoot lights-out from the perimeter. The main reason he has already collected a D1 offer is his shooting touch.
"I feel like I'm the right fit for a coach (who is) looking for someone to stick their nose in and tough it out," said Turner. "I can shoot the ball and get to the basket whenever I need to."
Tre is not only focusing on his basketball skills, but he's also focusing on getting it done in the classroom, so he can take a big step towards the next level.
"I want to work on getting all of my classes finished over the summer and next school year and try to graduate early," Turner said. "I also want to work my way up the national rankings, and be one of the best players in my class."
It will be very interesting to see if coaches approach Tre's recruitment differently if he does get the job done, and graduates early.
Beyond the observing schools there are some schools that Tre has grown fond of and would like to see more often.
"I'm really looking forward to more schools coming and showing interest," said Turner. "But right now East Carolina, N.C. State, and Virginia have been very (intriguing) to me."
