North Augusta, SC (Future150) -- As a freshman Michael DeVoe was more of a complimentary piece. The Oak Ridge product was still surrounded by Antonio Blakeny and Alex Owens, and not too much was expected of him.
Fast forward a year, and DeVoe has had to take on more of the scoring responsibilties for Oak Ridge, which isn't surprising given the school losing one of the best scorers in the class of 2015.
But Oak Ridge's loss, was DeVoe's gain, as the 6-foot-3 point guard was able to add a different dynamic to his to his game. He looked incredibly confident at Peach Jam two weeks ago as he helped his team make a run to the 16U semi-finals; drawing plenty of coaches along the way.
USC, Georgia, George Washington, Miami, UCF, Saint Louis, SMU, TCU and UMass have all offered, while Oklahoma and Butler are among the other programs showing interest.
DeVoe already knows what is going to be important to him when it comes time to make a decision. A future Engineering major, off the court factors will play a role.
"Just my relationship with the coaching staff and I really want great academics, Potentially going to the Ivy Leauge is something I'm thinking about, I have a 4.5 GPA," said DeVoe.
With the final live period set to kick off today, DeVoe will look to make one last impression to college coaches. Look for him to pick up a few more offers along the way.
