Villanova, PA (Future150) -- The defending national champs have already secured commitments from two top-100 prospects. What will these guys bring to the table? Will Villanova pull in any other elite prospects?
HARD COMMITS:
Jermaine Samuels, 6'6" Small Forward, Mansfield (MA): At 6'6" Samuels has great size on the wing and has great athleticism. He has improved greatly the past six months with his jumpshot and is now a true threat to knock down the three point shot when left open. His strength and versatility will allow him to play the two, three, and four spots for Coach Wright and he should be a darn good three to four year player for the Wildcats.
Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree, 6'8" Power Forward, Philadelphia (PA): Cosby-Roundtree is an intriguing player with upside potential. He vastly improved over the last two years of his high school career, showing his ability as an effective rim-runner and elite shot-blocker. While his offensive game is pretty raw at this point, he has shown signifigant growth in several areas. Nova's style of play should help him thrive in his career on the Main Line.
OTHER OFFERS:
On terms of other potential elite prospect commitments, Villanova doesn't seem to have any locks at this point but they are still in the running for 5-star shooting guard Lonnie Walker. Even though the buzz is mostly Arizona and Kentucky for landing the services of Walker, Villanova was once in the conversation heavily. Now more of a darkhorse candidate, Wildcat fans should definitely still keep a close watch on his recruitment process.
