Nashville, TN (Future150) -- After releasing our updated sophomore rankings to the public yesterday, now it's time to take a look at the freshman class.
The 2016 class right now is heavy at the top with long and athletic prospects who can play multiple positions on the floor. As expected with such a young class, there was some shuffling near the top of the rankings.
One name completely new to the rankings is Haitian important Herard Schneider, who checks in at #10 in the updated rankings.The 6'10" post player is new to the game, but has all the tools to be a special prospect down the road.
Here's a closer look at Future150's latest Top 5...
1.) DeRon Davis - Highly skilled 6'8" big man has averaged 12.5 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game this season.
2.) Harry Giles - Super athlete who has garnered attention from high majors coast to coast. Wake Forest had him on campus for Chris Paul jersey retirement this weekend.
3.) Joshua Langord - Powerful 6'5" guard named Alabama Class 3A State Championship MVP with 21 points, 19 rebounds, and 6 assists.
4.) Thon Maker - 7'0" power forward/center averaged 23.4 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 4.9 blocks for his Carlisle Day (VA) team this season.
5.) Seventh Woods - Absolutely explosive 6'2" combo guard averaged 19.3 points, 4.3 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game this season.
A few newcomers to the Future150 rankings are Arkansas guard Malik Monk (#16), Dallas jumping jack Terrance Ferguson (#17), and Mississippi small forward Darius Hicks (#33).
The updated rankings lists the Top 50 prospects who are currently standing out to Future150 staff in this promising class of athletes.
