With most of the high major SG's already off the board like, Malik Newman (Mississippi State), Antonio Blakeney (LSU), and Alonzo Trier (Arizona). 2016 SG LaGerald Vick became a hot commodity after blowing up the circuit during summer evaluations.

After decommitting from SMU and shooting the ball well on the UA circuit, Vick started to pick up high major offers rather quickly with the Kentucky and Kansas leading the headlines.

In the last couple weeks Vick had went on campus at Kansas and Kansas State for official visits. Vick had also planned on taking an official visit to Kentucky to meet with coach Cal and Co. within the next week or so.

Kansas coach Bill Self really seemed to stick out to Vick the most as he could tell Self wanted a committment badly. Self  ultimately gained Vick's committment over the likes of Kentucky, Kansas State, Arkansas, Alabama, & Cincy over many others.

Vick and his AAU family (Team Thad) are very proud of what he has now accomplished. "We are (extremely) proud of what LaGerald has done and how hard he has worked to get to this point and be in this situation", said head coach Norton Hurd. "LaGerald just felt it was the best fit for him and his family."

Vick is fully committed to the Kansas Jayhawks class of 2016 but his decision on whether to reclassify up to the 2015 class is still very much up in the air depending on certain circumstances. If things happen to change though, Bill Self is fully accepting of him as a 2015 scholarship player on next seasons team.

Future150 was the first to nationally rank LaGerald Vick 2 years ago and we have kept a close eye on him ever since.  After watching him play in the Spring evaluation period, I feel that Vick was a Top 30 type player in the class regardless if he classes up or decides to stay in the 2016 class.

He has the isolation and shot making game you just don't see in many players.  We saw this at our National Top 20 camp 2 years ago when he attended.  The Jayhawks are getting themselves a nice player who one day might be a NBA Pro.
