Philadelphia, PA (Future150) -- On Monday night, Roman Catholic (PA) will be battling Neumann- Goretti (PA) in the Philadelphia Catholic League Championship Game at the famed Palestra on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.
The Saints will be looking for their sixth straight PCL title, behind Miami (FL) commit Ja'Quan Newton and a cast of other division one prospects.
For the Cahillites of Roman Catholic, they also have a slew of division one prospects as well, but an unlikely player has emerged as their quiet leader this season: sophomore Tony Carr.
The 6-foot-1 Carr has played a significant role in leading his team to the PCL title game, including his performance last night, where he scored 12 points in a 52-45 win over La Salle (PA).
Currently sitting at #1 in AAAA Pennsylvania state rankings, Roman Catholic looks to stay in that spot by beating the Saints next Monday night, a feat which won't be easy.
If it's going to happen, they will need a big game from Carr, who is looking more and more like the next big time guard prospect to hail from Philadelphia.
Currently ranked #79 nationally by Future150 in the class of 2016, he has lived up to his billing this season, putting up solid numbers against a competitive schedule.
Already being targeted by local power Villanova, expect other schools to put their hat in the ring for his services this coming AAU season, where he reportedly will be running with EYBL power Team Final.
