Metuchen, NJ (Future150) -- Breein Tyree is one of the fastest rising guards in the class of 2016. After a fairly quiet recruitment, Tyree saw his stock rise drastically following a very strong July on the AAU circuit.
Plenty of schools began to show interest in the combo guard after seeing him at the UA Finals in Atlanta. Ole Miss was one of those programs. After taking visits, his most recent to the Rebels, Tyree decided to call Oxford home.
With Stefan Moody and Martavious Newby both graduating this season, Ole Miss needed a guard who could step in and produce from day one. Tyree, a younger senior who is really just finding his stride, fits that mold.
The New Jersey native has spent his summer playing in both Nike Pro City, and an open run in mid-town Manhattan. Both of which have helped his development over the past few months.
"Going against guys who play overseas, guys like Jordan Theodore, it's helped me improve and realize what I can do as a player," Tyree said in July.
An exceptional athlete at 6-foot-2, Tyree has the ability to play either position, but projects as a point guard in Ole Miss' offense. In Andy Kennedy's system, he will have every chance to shine and put up monster numbers.
With the recruitment process out of the way, Tyree will now focus on going for a Tournament of Champions title with new teammate and Syracuse commit Tyus Battle. Follow along with Future150 as we continue to cover the newest Rebel throughout the season.
