Allentown, PA (Future150) -- It was an impressive first game for Allentown Dieruff (PA) shooting guard Tyler Kohl. The 6-foot-4 powerfully built wing scored 13 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for the Huskies as they cruised past Easton (PA) 66-52.
He makes Dieruff an immediate contender in the Lehigh Valley Conference, one of the strongest leagues in the state. While Parkland, Allentown Central Catholic, and William Allen look like the front runners for a league title, the return of Kohl to the Lehigh Valley is an impact that should be felt all season long.
The former Trenton Catholic (NJ) star started his career at Notre Dame-Green Pond (PA) in the valley before leaving the state to play. Now, he's ready to have a big junior year.
Already holding offers from Drexel, Minnesota, Rhode Island, St. Joe's and Wagner, the physical wing has the ability to dominate the Lehigh Valley.
After a solid summer with We-R-1 on the AAU circuit, he looks primed to attract more offers and interest. We liked what we saw from him at both the 2013 Pitt Jam Fest as well as the Philly Jam Fest, both nationally recognized events.
Playing on a roster littered with high major and mid major division one prospects, Kohl showed off his ability to score and rebound at a high level. We also loved his high IQ on the floor and his consistency in big games.
Stay tuned to Future150 for updates on Kohl and the rest of the loaded Lehigh Valley Conference this season.
