Owasso, AL (Future150) -- When Oklahoma comes to mind, high school basketball might not be the first thing you think about. However, Shake Milton of Owasso has basketball on his mind, and is looking to take his game to the next level. Shake led his high school team to the Oklahoma state semi-finals this year, while averaging roughly 20 points per contest. Next year, he is looking to lead his team to a state championship.
When talking to Shake, he said that his biggest role model is his sister, who is currently attending Louisiana-Lafayette. He said she pushed him to work hard, which according to him, is what he has been doing a lot of lately.
“I go to the gym constantly; I have been working on getting stronger and more explosive," he told me.
He is switching things up this year in AAU. He will be playing for Athletes First. The reasoning makes sense
“It is going to give me more exposure and better competition. My coaches are going to push me harder and force me to play good defense," he said.
Another reason he is making the switch has to do with playing style. His new team likes to push the tempo and give their players freedom to be creative on the offensive end.
Shake is looking to step his game up to the next level, and with two division one offers already he is hoping for many more to come his way.
“Oklahoma and Tulsa have offered me, and I have also received some interest from Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and Kansas," he stated.
The Future150 camp really benefited Shake in his eyes. He said he enjoyed the high level of competition and liked the experience. Future150 will continue monitoring Shake’s success as he plays his first AAU season with Athletes First.
