North Charleston, SC (Future150) -- One of the great things about travel basketball every spring and summer is the evolution of the "breakout prospect" who comes out of nowhere and lands on the radar as a coveted prospect on a national level.
This spring and summer, that prospect may end up becoming Fort Dorchester High School (SC) sophomore Thaddeus Middleton.
Playing for the upstart Charleston Playmakers, a new AAU organization taking the lowcountry region by storm thanks to coaches Brandon Smalls and Meg Reilly, the best talent near the South Carolina coast get a chance to take their talent to some of the best AAU events in the Southeast every summer.
The spring and summer of 2013 will be the most active AAU season yet for the Playmakers. Thadd will be playing at several marquee events including the Eric Snow Invitational, Future150 Main Event in Birmingham, Tournament of Roses, Big Shots, Super Regionals in Charleston, The Super Showcase, and AAU Nationals, at the least.
The 6'5", 200-pound small forward has a game that has developed rapidly over the past year, and it is paying dividends for his high school team.
Currently, he is averaging 10 points and seven rebounds per game for Fort Dorchester, showcasing his explosive athleticism, rebounding skills, impressive court vision, and developing mid-range jump shot.
While there aren't any schools who have Thadd on their radar just yet, after traveling all AAU season, expect a lengthy list of suitors by the fall of 2013.
