Philadelphia, PA (Future150) -- In a class lacking depth at the center position, 2015 big man Ernest Aflakpui has positioned himself nicely just in time for his final AAU season.
Playing alongside high major classmate Derrick Jones at Archbishop Carroll (PA), Aflakpui used a big season on the high school hardwood to increase his national profile.
At 6-foot-10, 230-pounds, the native of Ghana is an impressive rebounder and shot-blocker who runs the floor extremely well for a player his size. His offensive skill set needs polishing, but he has improved each time we have seen him over the past 12 months.
According to his guardian, there is no shortage of schools who are tracking the big man because of his improvement. Temple, St. Joe's, San Diego State & La Salle have already offered him scholarships. Schools showing heavy interest include VCU, Manhattan, Niagara, Rider & Florida State. While Penn State, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech are all showing varying forms of interest as well.
Playing on the Under Armour Circuit this summer with We R1 should only help his cause, where he will be playing in high profile UA events in Pittsburgh, Houston, and Atlanta.
Future150 will be seeing him at the Under Armour Invitational in Houston on May 16-18, which will feature all the premier UA teams from across the country. Stay tuned for an update on the Pennsylvania center.
