Atlanta, GA (Future150) -- It’s a little too early to tell what may happen in the class of 2013, especially since some players have not even been discovered at this point.
CJ Foster (Class of 2013, Berkmar High School/Worldwide Renegades) from Lawrenceville, Georgia is a player who is relatively unknown right now, but is on the cusp of becoming a household name.
He is a Future150 Camp alum and since going to the camp, he has utilized his exposure and received attention from many schools in his region. At this time, the 6-foot-2 shooting guard is hearing from several colleges.
“I’m currently being recruited by Middle Tennessee State, Jacksonville University, Samford, College of Charleston, Young Harris, and Farleigh Dickinson,” he confirmed.
Although the young competitor does not have any offers or favorites at this time, he does seem really interested in one specific college.
“MTSU is the school sticking out to me right now; I was just recently at their elite camp,” Foster expressed. “I really like that school.”
Right now he is trying to improve on his game by developing better ball-handling skills and shot consistency. He knows that he will need to improve this part of his game if he wants to become more of an elite basketball player.
Foster is more confident with his ability to get to the rim and court vision. He also has a lot of trust in his defense and believes this is the strong part of his game.
“I have an aggressive style of defense,” he stated.
When asked to compare himself to a current NBA or college player, his answer was not a common one.
“I would relate myself to Jeff Teague, we have a very similar point guard game,” he informed me.
This past season in high school, Foster started alongside three other elite guards and a 6-foot-9 post player. He admits that he was not able to score the way he wanted, but was able to average eight points per game. He was also able to help lead his team to the elite eight in the Georgia state tournament.
Foster is planning to attend the Atlanta Future150 Camp. He will use the camp to obtain more exposure and expand upon his basketball skills as much as possible.
“The Future150 Camp showed me that good defense makes scoring on offense a lot easier,” he revealed. “The camp really made me more comfortable and dominant on offense.”
Comments:
His average over the summer so far with Worldwide has improved, having a couple of 20 plus games in Chicago and several 15 plus games with other tournaments. He is also being pushed to handle the ball more now. We are very proud of him and will continue to support his efforts, ” Academically and Athletically”.
