Oviedo, FL (Future150) -- While most prep basketball players would consider a season in which they averaged 11.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per game a stellar year, Oviedo High School (Fl) small forward Dexter Graham isn't one of those kids.
"I had some injuries that held me back a little bit," he told me last week. Injuries or not, there's no denying that the 6'4", 185-pound wing had a solid year.
Helping his team to a 19-9 record, he had several standout performances, including a 26 point, 10 rebound game against Lyman High School, as well as a 17 point, 10 rebound night against Lake Brantley.
Future150 first got a glimpse of Dexter last fall when he attended our Atlanta camp, where he was deemed a Top 20 All-Star. Now that he's healthy, he's ready for a big season on the AAU circuit with his Showtime Ballers team.
Modeling his game after Austin Rivers and James Harden, Dexter looks to a certain role model for motivation to get better.
"My dad always pushes me to get better as a person and a player," he told me.
Look for the athletic wing to make some noise on the circuit over the coming months, as the Showtime Ballers will be traveling to events in Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Ohio, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania, showcasing one of the most talented teams the state has to offer.
