Dallas, TX (Future150) -- Thursday was the opening day of action at the 2014 PrimeTime Nationals in Dallas, Texas. In 15U action, it was Ohio 2017 forward Caden Sanchez who stole the headlines. Here is a look at some of the names who made waves on day one:

Caden Sanchez, 2017 PF, CMB Assault: The most dominant performer in the 15U division on Thursday was the 6-foot-7 power forward. A highly skilled big man with excellent footwork on the low block, Memphis Team Impact simply had no answer for the strong post player.  On the defensive end of the floor, he blocked several shots using excellent instincts and timing. He finished the game with 16 points in a blowout victory.

Timothy Nealy, 2017 PF, Franchize Elite: In the opening game of the 2014 PrimeTime Nationals, the 6-foot-4 post was unstoppable for his team in defeat. He scored 23 points in the game, doing most of his damage around the rim. A quick leaper with long arms, he rebounded the ball extremely well & forced the opposing team into a zone defense in the second half in order to stop the bleeding of his dominance inside.

Mubarak Abdirahman, 2016 SF, CMB Assault: A prospect who could see significant gains in his development over the next several months is the 6-foot-6 small forward from Westerville Central (OH). Young for his grade, he shows flashes of perimeter excellence with impressive spin moves off the bounce and soft touch around the rim. He also has the ability to hit shots from the perimeter when given the opportunity, and he runs the floor extremely well. Once his body fills out, he should become a very productive player.

Lamarquis Bowens, 2017 SF, Dallas Flight: A punishing small forward, the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder was a force on Thursday afternoon, scoring the basketball on all three levels. A quick leaper with a muscular frame, he finished with 16 points in a winning effort for his team, sealing the game late with two clutch free throws with seconds remaining. Look for him to continue to put up big numbers this week.

Kassim Nicholson, 2017 SF, Jackson Tar Heels: A solid long term prospect to take a look at is the 6-foot-6 small forward. With his slender frame and young face, it’s clear that the Callaway (MS) product has significant growing to do, but he possesses a good set of skills to this point. Athletic with good body control, he’s going to be a fun kid to keep track of over the next few years.

Xavier Armstead, 2017 SG, Louisiana Dynasty: Armstead is a long and lanky wing who is a good defender and a great passer. He uses his length well on both ends of the floor and looks to set his teammates up before he looks for his own shot. While his shot from deep wasn’t falling in their first game of the day, it looks solid and he has decent form. He is definitely one to keep an eye on moving forward.

Armani Gibson, 2017 PG, Louisana Dynasty: A pass-first point guard with great vision, Gibson is the engine that makes this dangerous Dynasty team go. He has good size for his position and uses it well on the defensive end of the ball. In the open court he is constantly playing with his head up and looking to get his teammates involved. Coaches would be smart to start tracking him now.

Sammy Williams, 2017 SG, Hyperfuse: Williams is a sweet-shooting guard who is absolutely wired to score. He is looking for his shot at all times and has a quick release. Once he gets hot he is hard to slow down and was a major reason that Hyperfuse was able to stay in it vs Dynasty.

Khalil Johnson, 2017 CF, Birmingham Blue Devils: One of the more impressive performances of the day went to the rising sophomore, who put up 19 points in the first half vs Game Tight. At 6-foot-7 he has the size and skill to play either forward position and showed that he can step out and hit jumpers. He looks to be a promising stretch-4 that Future150 will definitely have their eyes on in the coming years.

Tyree Elder,2017 SG, Game Tight: Elder showed that he can get to the rim and use his frame to either draw the foul or finish through contact. He isn’t the tallest off-guard in the country but he knows how to play and has a good amount of muscle on him. Elder also showed that given time and space he can knock down the open jumper.
