Allentown, PA (Future150) -- Sitting at 26-0 on the season, Allentown Central Catholic (PA) is having one of the best seasons in Lehigh Valley history, and the catalyst has been guard Muhammad-Ali Abdur Rahkman.
The 6-foot-4 shooting guard has turned in a monstrous senior season to date, currently averaging 22.7 points per game, and in the process, scoring his 2,000th career point last week.
Sitting at #3 in the AAA Pennsylvania state rankings for the majority of the season, the Vikings have already won a Lehigh Valley Conference Championship, beating Parkland (PA) 66-62, with Rahkman scoring 21 points in the win.
The two-time Lehigh Valley Conference MVP will undoubtedly become a four-time all-state selection by seasons end, and looks to add to his list of achievements tonight. The Vikings play Pottsville Area (PA) in the District 11 Championship, who comes into the game at 23-4 on the season behind a cast of talented juniors. The two programs met for the 2010 district championship, with the Crimson Tide prevailing 63-58.
Bucknell, Lehigh, Towson, High Point, Fairfield, Quinnipiac, Robert Morris, VCU, George Mason, Drexel & Delaware have all offered the wing, who has scored in double figures in every game this season.
The smooth shooting guard, who played with Team Final on the AAU circuit, will go down as one of the most productive players the state has ever seen. Can he add a District 11 Championship and a state championship to his accomplishments before graduation? The journey starts tonight.
