Raleigh, NC (Future150) -- The state of North Carolina has a long history of outstanding point guard prospects at the high school level. Recently, Chris Paul, Eric Maynor, and John Wall have dominated competition as prep school standouts before embarking on successful college and professional careers.
The state churns out top-notch talent on a yearly basis, and they are known for the guards they produce. One under-the-radar point guard in the state right now is class of 2014 lead guard William Walker.
The Southeast Raleigh High School standout is a 6'0" speedster who is starting to attract the attention of several quality college programs.
George Mason, Rutgers, Richmond, and Mt. Saint Mary's are showing serious interest in the penetrating point guard who couples his excellent speed with outstanding court vision.
He plays the game like a poor man's version of San Antonio Spur Tony Parker. He loves to penetrate into the paint, where he is dangerous when creating opportunites for himself and his teammates. However, don't sleep on his jump shot. If left open, he is able to destroy the defense with his consistent shooting.
This summer, he will be taking his act on the road with the prestigious Garner Road AAU program. Look for him to make a name for himself at some of the premier summer events in the country: the Adidas It Takes 5ive Tournament, the Hoop Group Summer Classic East, and the Adidas Super 64.
