Future150 GM / Senior National Analyst. Covering high and middle school basketball.

Forrest City, AR (Future150) -- When your father is a former NBA player and your mother is a former player at Jackson State University and a member of your high school's sports Hall of Fame, there is no shortage of pressure to perform on the basketball court.

That is the pressure Dwain Whitfield lives with on a daily basis. His father, Dwayne Whitfield, played briefly with the Toronto Raptors after starring at Jackson State. His mother, Carla, completed a stellar college career after dominating at Forrest City High School (AR), where Dwain is now trying to make a name for himself.

The 6'6", 220-pound combo forward is embarking on an important junior season. After breaking his leg twice within a span of six months, he missed his entire freshman season as well as most of his sophomore year. Now, he is ready to leave his own legacy at Forrest CIty High School.

Now that he is healthy, the Future150 Camp alum is showcasing his diverse game to coaches and scouts alike. He is a versatile player who has skills in the low post as well as on the perimeter.

He isn't shy about playing a brusing style of basketball in the paint, but has a feathery jumper which he uses to abuse the defense as well. He is also a solid free-throw shooter with beautiful form on his shot.

After talking to Dwain, he informed me that he currently does not have any offers, but Memphis, Arkansas, and Arkansas State are keeping tabs on the talented forward.

"I want play inspiring basketball this season and show my peers and coaches that I have worked extremely hard to return to the court from my injuries. I also want to help my team defend its conference championship and hopefully win a state championship for my hometown and my high school."

That sounds like a perfect way to start a legacy of his own.
