Raleigh, NC (Future150) -- Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, North Carolina has become one of the most respected high school programs in the state, ever since the emergence of John Wall several years ago. Since then, several stars have passed through the program, including N.C. State star C.J. Leslie, Xavier's Dezmine Wells, and the University of Miami's Bishop Daniels. Star players continue to filter through the Holy Rams program, and next in line is sophomore small forward Stavian Allen.

The lengthy 6-foot-7 inch swingman is a versatile athlete who excels in the open floor. He is a deadly shooter off the dribble and is an extremely fluid athlete, capable of dunking on anybody in his way. After starting his high school career at Cary High School (N.C.), he decided to transfer to Word of God, where he reclassified to the class of 2014. When talking about the talented forward, the key word to use is "potential". He is a high-ceiling prospect whose game is continually evolving. On the national level, he is still flying under the radar, due to the fact that he plays with top 100 rising senior point guard Josh Newkirk.

Due also to his unselfishness as a player, his notoriety hasn't quite reached a national audience. "I just tried to play my role", he told me when talking about his sophomore season at Word of God.
However, even after averaging just about seven points per game this year, several big-time programs have taken notice as to how good Stavian can be a few years down the road.

When I asked him about what schools that are showing the most interest in him, he rattled off an impressive list of "George Mason, Purdue, West Virginia, Presbyterian, Boston University, VCU, and UTA."

This summer, he plans on showcasing improved ballhandling skills to go with his already polished slashing game. When asked about who he models his game after, his answer is no surprise, considering his body type, "I try to model my game after Kevin Durant." While he still has a long way to go in order to reach such lofty expectations, Stavian Allen is more concerned with winning basketball games.

With two seasons left at Word of God Academy, his focus is set on team oriented goals, showing just the type of team-first player he is. "I want to win a state championship before my high-school career is over. That's a must." With an attitude like that, I'm sure that you will be hearing a lot more about the talented North Carolina swingman for many years to come.
