Dallas, TX (Future150) -- February 29th, 2013 will be a day that goes down in the record books for both Jeremy Combs as well as his Dallas Carter High basketball program.
In a 117-57 thrashing of North Dallas High School (TX), the versatile forward exploded for 50 points and 15 rebounds. It seems fitting that the 6'6", 190-pounder had such a dominating game, considering that he has used his junior year to burst onto the national basketball landscape.
Currently, the long and explosive Combs is averaging nearly 22 points and eight rebounds per game, He has led the Cowboys to a 25-4 record at press time, which has landed them at #3 currently in the state of Texas hoops rankings.
Just as his game has exploded this season, so has his phone with offers and interest from college programs.
Steve Alford and New Mexico have already offered him. So has Indiana State.
To date, programs showing interest include Denver, Iona, Richmond, and Texas-Arlington.
"I want to take my team to a state championship. That's the most important thing to me right now, as well as being a good team player," he told Future150 the day after his 50 point outburst.
Regardless of this season's outcome, there is no denying that he has been improving rapidly over the past year, and will continue to do so on the AAU circuit playing with his Deron Williams Elite squad.
It will be awful fun watching him run the floor with dynamic Dallas twin prospects Derrick and Erick Neal.
In the meantime, keep your eyes and ears open to the Twitter world, where you might just be the first to hear about another 50 point game in Jeremy Combs future.
