Birmingham, AL (Future150) -- The Future150 Camp rolled back into Birmingham for the 3rd year in a row at Samford University looking for talent out of the state of Alabama.  Tons of young talent from Tennessee, Georgia, Louisiana, and Alabama were in attendance at this year’s camp.  The camp featured players such as 2012-Justin Browning a Western Carolina commit, 2012-Johnny McGhee, 2014-Trey Touchet and 2013-Brandon Roberts. The F150 Top 20 All-Star game was won by the white team in a high intensity hard fought win 78-74.  Let’s take a look at the top performers from this past weekend.  Exposure Wanted…Exposure Gotten.  Up next on the Future150 Camp Series the 3rd Annual National Top 20 Camp in Nashville, TN on October 15-16, 2011.

Top 40 Players:

Jermey McIntyre-(2012-Bessemer City-Bessemer, AL) the 6-foot-2 inch SG is a strong bodied player who likes to shoot the ball from the 3-point line.  He was one of the most consistent 3 point shooters in the camp.  He has a power dribble drive game which he really showed on Sunday.  He handles the ball well and can score in transition.  He was one of the top overall defenders in the camp.  Loves to go and get rebounds after he misses shots and finishes them strong around the rim.

Mark Sadler-(2012-Gardendale-Gardendale, AL) the 6-foot-3 inch SG was the most intense high energy player the camp has seen this summer.  He was the best defender in the camp this weekend.  He loves to rebound the ball on both ends and just never gives up on plays.  He can score from mid range and likes to attack the basket in transition.  Sadler is just one of those players every team needs on there team due to he does everything no one wants to do which translates to “Wins.”

Justin Browning-(2012-Sylacauga-Sylacauga, AL) the 6-foot-4 inch SF is a Western Carolina commit that is coming off a very productive AAU season in which he was propelled in the spot light after joining the Alabama Celtics.  He was the 5A Alabama State Champion in the high jump. He is wiry, long and extremely athletic prospect who likes to attack and finish at the rim.  He is a high energy player who excels on the defensive end.  Browning has the canning ability to rebound over much taller players and can get steals in bunches as he has extremely quick hands.  His improving jump shot should complete this talented mid major player.

Johnny McGhee-(2012-Briarcrest-Memphis, TN) the 6-foot-3 inch SG showed up to the F150 Camp for a second weekend in a row after competing in Nashville the weekend before.  After finishing as one of the top players last weekend, McGhee did not disappoint this weekend.  He showed one of the most fundamental 3-point shots we have seen to date.  He is extremely athletic and can attack the basket and finish at the rim.  Added strength and a developing mid range game should push this D1 prospect over the edge.

Trey Touchet-(2014-St. Thomas More-Layafette, LA) the 6-foot-1 inch SG was one of the top young prospects in the camp this past weekend.  He showed great range and is a fundamental pure jump shooter that can knock down the three on a regular basis.  He handles the ball well and likes to attack the basket in transition.  He has the quickness and body to guard both guard positions.  Touchet doesn’t find a shot too often he doesn’t like and has the ability to score at will.  He is a no brainer D1 player who is only going to get better with experience.

Mark Vital-(2016-Molo-Lake Charles, LA) the 6-foot-2 inch CG is a familiar face to the F150 Camp as he attended the New Orleans camp a couple weeks prior.  He is long rangy guard that has huge hands which allows him to be creative when attacking the rim which usually results in a dunk.  To be so young, Vital has a good feel for the game and loves to play.  He has good court vision and loves to shoot the mid range jumper.  He rebound’s the ball extremely well on both ends due to his length.  Vital is a solid D1 prospect that if he stays on this course will end up high major.

Trey Evans-(2013-Gardendale-Gardendale, AL) the 6-foot-3 inch SF has super long arms and good athleticism which is very deceptive.  He rebound’s the ball extremely well on the offensive end and blocks a ton of shots around the rim.  His length allows him to guard multiple positions on the floor.  Evans might have been one of the top finishers on the break due to his attacking style of play.  An improving mid range game should propel this prospect into the spot light.

Josh Hill-(2016-Faith Academy-Mobile, AL) the 6-foot-4 in PF was another familiar face who attended the New Orleans camp a couple weeks ago.  He is a big bodied player who uses his size well when rebounding and playing with his back to the basket.  He has a variety of post moves and can turn and face his defender when attacking him on the low block.  His ball handling skills are improving which will only make him tougher to defend.  Hill loves the mid range shot on the baseline and knocks it down on a regular basis.

Brandon Roberts-(2013-Austin-Decatur, AL)-the 6-foot-1 inch CG has improved tremendously since we saw him last year.  He is a great ball handler with good court vision who can score in bunches.  He has really good athleticism and can finish at the rim with either hand.  He can score on all three levels and can play and guard both guard positions.  Roberts might have been one of the most consistent 3-point shooters in the entire camp.  He is a solid mid major prospect with high major potential.

Zach Hodskins-(2014-Ravenswood-Brentwood, TN) the 6-foot-3 inch SG was back for a 2nd camp in consecutive weekends after attending the Nashville camp the week before.  He is a pure shooter that  can knock down three’s in bunches.  His ball handling skills will lull you to sleep if you are not careful.  He had the “Hot Sauce” moment in the camp as he isolated his defender and put the ball between his defenders legs on the dribble drive to the basket.  One thing people don’t realize is this one arm phenom might be the most fundamental player the camp has seen this year.

Alfonso Johnson-(2013-Lee-Huntsville, AL) the 6-foot-4 inch SF is the son of former University of Alabama great Buck Johnson.  He is a long rangy player who can score on all three levels.  He loves the mid range jumper on the baseline.   Johnson’s ball handling skills have improved since the last time we saw him to go along with his aggressiveness.   He is an excellent rebounder on both ends from the wing position.  Overall consistency is what will put him over the top.

Nathan Sheffield-(2012-Gardendale, AL) the 6-foot-3 inch SF has long arms, big hands, and good athleticism.  This F150 alumni has improved his jump shot tremendously since we saw him last.  He loves to start the break after a rebound and has great court vision.  He shot the ball from the 3-point line well all weekend long.  Sheffield is a great rebounder on both ends and has the ability to guard multiple positions on the floor.  Relatively under recruited, he is a solid prospect who just needs experience.

Anthony Cole, Jr.-(2012-Arlington-Memphis, TN) the 6-foot-3 inch CG is strong bodied guard that likes to attack the rim and can finish with contact.  His strength and quickness allows him to guard both guard positions.  He loves to dribble drive and know down the mid range jumper.  An improving three point shot allows him to keep his defender honest.  Cole plays with a high basketball IQ and loves to snatch defensive rebounds and start the fast break using his PG skills to attack the defense.  Overall this under recruited prospect just needs to be seen his game will do the rest.

Cordarius Samples-(2012-Hueytown-Hueytown, AL) the 6-foot-2 inch PG is a big bodied player who uses his strength and attacking style of play to his advantage.  He is an excellent ball handler and has great court vision in both transition and the half court.  He knows how to play the game the right way and has a high basketball IQ.  He has the quickness and size to finish at the rim with contact.  Samples greatest strength might be his ability to dribble drive and knock down the mid range jumper.  This under recruited prospect will make any D1 coach happy.

Jackie Hale-(2013-Ramsey-Birmingham, AL) the 5-foot-8 inch PG is an extremely quick player who has developed his skills quite well as the summer went on.  He is a good ball handler and sees the court well in transition.  He showed the ability to know down the mid rang jumper with consistency all weekend long.  Hale proved he can make the 3-point shot which loosen up his defender and gave him the ability to attack off the dribble.  He loves to play and is very coachable and wants to learn with a positive attitude.  The sky is the limit for this talent PG prospect.

Brandon Hester-(2013-Hueytown-Hueytown, AL) the 5-foot-7 inch PG was solid all weekend long.  He really knows how to make his teammates better and has great ball handling skills.   He showed excellent quickness and can guard both guard positions.  He has a nice mid range game and likes to attack the rim in transition. Hester has good court vision and loves knocking down the mid range jumper.  He is a solid prospect.

Leo Born-(2012-Baylor-Ringgold, GA) the 6-foot-2 inch SG shot the ball well all weekend long.  His strength and size allowed him to guard multiple positions on the floor.  He can score on all three levels and shot the ball well from the 3-point line with consistency.  He uses his body well when rebounding on both ends.  Born is a fundamental player who knows how to play and use that to his advantage.  He is a solid prospect and a coach’s dream on the floor.

Terdarrius Lavendar-(2013-Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa, AL) the 6-foot CG was electrifying in the open floor as he weaved his way in and out of defenders as he attacked the basket.  He is a excellent ball handler who made his defender fall after a shake and bake move that left his fellow campers saying “Ohhhhh.”  He has a nice mid range game and has the quickness to guard both guard positions.  Lavendar was Mr. Hustle all weekend long and never gave up on any play.  Look for a big AAU summer from him as he becomes a solid D1 prospect.

Tracy Burnett-(2016-Lee-Huntsville, AL) the 6-foot-3 inch SF is a long, athletic prospect who opened some eyes this past weekend.  He loves to crash the boards on the offensive end.  He shot the ball well from mid range and loves to finish on the fast break.  He uses is length well to guard bigger players and affects a lot of shots.  After a rebound, Burnett likes to lead the break and show off this dribbling abilities and court vision.  As this prospect grows and gains experience the sky is the limit.

Orlando Davis-(2012-East Lawernce-Decatur, AL) the 6-foot-3 inch PG loves to play defense and guard the best player on the other team. He has long arms and rebound’s the ball well on the defensive end. He has a great feel for the game and sees the floor extremely well when creating for his teammates. Davis has a great mid range game and made the 3 point shot with consistency all weekend.  Overall, he is solid prospect who just need to be seen.

Austin Hancock-(2013-Glencoe-Hokes Bluff, AL) the 5-foot-11 inch SG is a good ball handler and loves to shoot the ball from the  3-point line.  He loves to play in the open court and get out and run in transition.  He showed good court vision and the ability to guard both guard positions.  He plays with a high motor and never gives up on a play.  Confidence is the only thing this relatively unknown prospect needs and if he gets that look at.

Philip Baites-(2014-Beech-Hendersonville, TN) the 6-foot combo guard shot the ball well from mid and long rang all weekend long.  He showed good court vision and was one of the top spot up shooters in the entire camp.  He is a solid defender and rebounds the ball well on both ends of the floor.  If Baites ever decides to become a 1 sport athlete who knows how far he might go.
