Charlotte, NC (Future150) -- Wendell Moore Jr. is only in the 8th grade and has already been placed in the hype machine of basketball. As scouts and analysts are projecting him to be the next great combo forward to come out of North Carolina.
Standing at 6'3 Wendell towers over his peers of his age as well as most of his teachers and coaches. He uses that 6'3 frame to his advantage on the court when he is dominating inside the paint against opponents and honestly makes it look a little too easy.
Obviously Wendell will need to continue to grow if he wants to continue to be an anchor in the paint throughout his high school playing days. But even if he were to shrink you just couldn't count this kid out, as he is oozing with potential and raw talent. The reason I say this is because the prolific 8th grader doesn't only man the post, he can also pull up from mid range and hit with consistency and his three point shot is continually getting better. That's still not all, Wendell has a very mature basketbal IQ for his age and can also dribble and dish almost as well as most point guards in his class.
He still has plenty of room to grow (height & skills) but the potential of how good he can be as a Junior and Senior in high school is down right scary. Wendell has plenty of elite players in North Carolina in his class of 2019, and it won't be long now before he's picking up offers from the blue blood programs of division one basketball.
Wendell Moore Jr. may only be in the 8th grade but has plenty of hype around him already. Follow along with Future150 as we continue to track his progress.
