Nashville, TN (Future150) -- Florida power forward Schuyler Rimmer  is off the board for the second time, and now, it's for good.  Rimmer is 4-star and the No. 84 ranked player in the Future150 national rankings.

The 6-foot-9, 230-pound big man from Boone High School (FL), a one-time Florida Gator commit, will be headed to Stanford University next season.

“The plan Stanford has for me is what sealed the deal. They see me as a multi-faceted player who fits into their system in a variety of ways. With Coach Dawkins and his system, as well as his experience with NBA guys at Duke and with Team USA, I think that will really help me develop into the best possible player I can become,” he told Future150 last night.

After initially committing to the Gators, he soon realized that he rushed the process a bit.

"At the end of the day, I realized it wasn't the best fit for me."

“When I committed to Florida, I was feeling a lot of pressure. At the time, there were other highly regarded players who had Florida on their list, and I got caught up in the whole process. I felt like I kind of needed to commit right then and there," he went on to say.

After re-evaluating his situation, he decided to take a look at all the factors which would be best for his future.

“After decommitting, my top four all along have been Southern California, Stanford, Vanderbilt, and Virginia. Each of the schools have a great academic reputation, which is why I strongly considered them all."

When speaking about Virginia head coach Tony Bennett, he had nothing but good things to say.

“I think Coach Bennett is a really good guy. A solid up-and-coming coach. He has the program headed in the right direction.”

Now that the pressure is off of Schuyler to make a decision on where he will be attending college, he already has a plan for his academic future.

“I’m looking to get my undergraduate degree in management science and industrial engineering at Stanford.”
