Reading, PA (Future150) -- Reading High School is the largest high school in the state of Pennsylvania, and one of the largest in the entire country. The school has a rich history in athletics, and has produced notable basketball names Stu Jackson and Donyell Marshall, among others over the years.

The next star walking the hallways of "The Castle on the Hill" is 2013 combo guard Jalan BranfordThe 6'1", 190-pound senior has been a standout on the basketball team since his freshman year, something very rare in the history of the school.

Last season, as a junior, he led the Red Knights is scoring at 13.9 points, while also filling the box score with 5.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.

This season, he has bigger aspirations. "I want to win states, make the All-State team, and become a member of the 1,000 point club," he told Future150.

As for schools interested in Branford, Philadelphia University, Rider, Delaware, and Binghamton are all vying for the guard.

He is also a football star for the Red Knights, and is one of the best athletes in the state, which has several high major schools involved in his recruitment. Rutgers, Temple, Connecticut, Maryland, and Pittsburgh are showing interest, while the University of Buffalo has offered him a scholarship.

While he has high profile schools at his doorstep to play football at the next level, he is adamant in his stance that basketball is what he wants to play at the next level.

"I feel that basketball can offer me more for my future," he told me.

Stay tuned to Future150 as his senior season rolls on, and find out what sport Jalan will play at the next level, and where he will eventually decide to take his talents.
