Houston, TX (Future150) -- The Future150 member Melvin Swift  is #64 in the Future150 rankings and one of the better forwards available in the class of 2014. He can run the floor very well and is one of the more explosive athletes in the class period. Arizona and Kentucky have shown early interest and other schools are involved with the big man as well. He plays with high energy and even though he is still very thin for his position he is a monster on the boards often scoring off of put backs and tip slams.

It will only be a matter of time before other big schools such as Texas, Oklahoma, Baylor, and other Big 12 programs get involved with the forward. Pac-12 programs Oregon and Oregon State where in attendance when his high school team Jack Yates played in the Les Schwab invitational in Oregon back in December. He is also teammates with fellow top 100 forward JC Washington, and the two will keep Yates as one of the top programs in the state as long as they are both there.

This spring Swift will be playing with Houston Hoops along JC Washington and fellow 2014 standouts Justin Jackson and Justise Winslow While might be tougher for him to showcase his skills on such a talented program he will be sure to pick up more interest and offers as the spring and summer goes on.
