Huntsville, AL (Future150) -- On a team filled with players that will go on to play college basketball, sometimes it is tough for respective players to get the spotlight they deserve. It is even tougher for underclassmen to get the recognition they deserve.

Nevertheless, the entire team at Hazel Green High (Ala.) is receiving high interest from colleges, along with winning games.

Lewis Sullivan, Austin Dempsey, and Cash Crutcher, along with Penn State football-commit Parker Cothren, will all go on to the next level to play college sports. However, sophomore Ethan Stair may be the most intriguing.

At 6-foot-4, Stair already has a body that looks to translate to the college game. Add that to his high-energy athleticism and his shooting ability, and you have a very talented prospect.

In fact, several schools have already expressed interest in the shooting guard. Belmont, UAB, UAH, Alabama, Murray State, Jacksonville, Tennessee, and LSU are among those schools interested.

College coaches are calling and showing interest, but right now, Stair is focused on his high school season. After reaching the state tournament last season, Hazel Green hopes to make it back to Birmingham.

“We are 2-1 in our area right now, so I would say we are doing pretty well. I think we have a good chance at going all the way,” he told Future150.

Stair is a rather new name to the national media, so he described his game with us to help fans:

“I like to cut and move around a lot. I move without the ball consistently.”

“I need to keep improving my ball-handling. I want to be an all-around guard instead of just a pure shooting guard.”

It is still a long time until Stair logs a college decision, but with visits already taken to UAB and Alabama, he is beginning to think about what he wants in a school.

“I would like a nice medical shool, but ultimately, as far as basketball goes, it depends on the coaching staff and how the team plays.”

Stay tuned for more info on Ethan Stair as Hazel Green looks to make a run back to the Alabama state tournament.
