Memphis, TN (Future150) -- Future150 Camp alumni and the #70 prospect in the class of 2015, center Nick Marshall out of Lexington (TN) gave his commitment to the Memphis Tigers today. He chose the Tigers over scholarship offers from Auburn, Tennessee, UConn, Indiana, Mississippi State and South Carolina.

Marshall is 6-foot-11 with a wingspan of 7-foot-4 inches. When we first saw him three years ago, he was a developmental type player who had size and not much else. Fast forward to now and he has a skill set of blocking shots, great rebounding ability and the ability to finish at the rim.

Not only is he committing to Memphis, but according to his AAU coach, Norton Hurd, he will also reclass to the class of 2016.

Coach Hurd stated, "We feel with Nick just turning 17 years old and him being so young, we felt it would help his development both mentally and physically. We are definitely keeping the option open to still come out this year if we choose to."

Hurd went on to say how Nick is one of his favorite players that he has coached and being that he's been in the Team Thad program for three years, he is proud of how hard he has worked to get to this point in his career. Since joining the national circuit with Team Thad, Marshall has been exposed to some of the best basketball in the country which has helped him develop and get his name on the national radar.

We asked Nick why he chose Memphis over his other top choices, and he had the following to say.

"After I taked it over with coach Hurd and my parents, I felt the most comfortable with Coach Kirby and Memphis."

Coach Kirby told Marshall that with the Lawson brothers currently committed currently to Memphis and with them being in good shape to land his current teammate, 2016 point guard Jaylen Fisher, they would have a great chance to win a national championship in the near future, which appealed to the big man.

At the next level, Marshall plans on studying to become a veterinarian due to his love of animals.

"I would like to thank my parents for everything they have done for me and a special thanks to coach Norton Hurd and the Team Thad program for believing in me and never giving up on me.  I would never be here without coach Hurd."
