Iolani, HI (Future150) -- When you think about high school basketball players who are  great leapers, the first thing that comes to mind are tall players with long arms. Well you can throw that thought out the window when it comes to Alabama native and Oklahoma State commit Detrick Mostella.

He might just be one of the top three leapers in the class when it comes to athleticism and attacking the rim. During the month of July, He was putting on a show at every stop on the AAU circuit.  He led his team to the Peach State Showcase tournament championship while averaging over 25 points per game. He left the crowds in awe with his high flying dunks and display of his shooting abilities.

Mostella was just in Hawaii at the Iolani Classic for a holiday tournament with his high school team, La Lumiere out of Indiana.  He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament while averaging 24 points per game. He also took part in the annual dunk contest the tourney hosts each year where he won the event going away. Mostella has a 45" vertical leap and stands 6-foot-2 inches and weighs 155 pounds.

In the contest he performed 4 dunks which left the crowd wanting more and his fellow competitors in awe of what they just watched. The 1st dunk was a "Between the Legs Windmill" which he made look easy. The 2nd Dunk he brought out fellow competitor 6-foot-10 inch Christian Wood from Findlay Prep and jumped over him with a one handed hammer.

The 3rd dunk he brought out a chair and sat a player in the chair and took off from 3/4 up the lane and windmilled while jumping over the player in the chair. The final dunk that had the crowd going crazy was Mostella jumping over not 1 or 2 but 3 players of which 2 were 6'10". Talk about amazing. Wow. The sky is the limit for the kid.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are getting a steal when they got his commitment and I suspect we might be seeing him playing in the NBA one day.
